Deltoid, infraspinatus and supraspinatus
This picture shows 4 muscles, two of which you do not need to now. The supraspinatus and infraspinatus are the developed muscles under the spinodeltoid. The spinodeltoid is a superficial muscle that is a very thin layer of muscle the covers the infraspinatus and supraspinatus.
How-to: We divided further than you need to. After finding the Acromiodeltoid, the rectangular muscle on the shoulder (should be one whole piece) is the deltoid. Deltoid= Supraspinatus+infraspinatus+spinodeltoid.

- The spindeltoid is not fully developed in fetal pigs. You will not find a full spinodeltoid, only a thin layer of muscle that may look like connective tissue. The spinodeltoid here has been torn in various places, but it is the thin layer of muscle that appears to be covering the infra/supraspinatus in various places.
- Action: Raises the humerus.
- Origin: Originates from the spine of the scapula
- Insertion: Inserts into the proximal end of the humerus
- Finding the spinodeltoid is not difficult, however it is often mistaken for connective tissue and cut and/or removed. Be careful not to to cut any muscle fibers in this area.
