Splenius
The splenius is hidden under and in between the rhomboideus cervicus and capitus. The muscle fibers run horizontally to the rhomboideus capitus and cervicus. It is easily spotted after finding the capitus and cervicus.
How-To: To find this muscle, find the Capitus and Cervicus, and the muscle underneath (and in between in the picture above) the two is the Splenius.

- Action: The splenius extends the head and flexes it to the side.
- Origin: It originates from the first two thoracic vertebrae.
- Insertion: Inserts into the occipital bone of the head.
